IND vs NZ: Predicted India Squad for India vs New Zealand ODI Series. Who will be India Captain?

India will be playing a 3 match ODI series against New Zealand after the 3 match ODI series against Sri Lanka which is set to commence on 10^th of January. India are playing with their full strength side for that series except Ravindra Jadeja who is out due to injury. As this is the world cup year, India are expected to go in with the same squad that plays against Sri Lanka as they don’t want to rest their first choice players atleast in 50 overs format in the world year.

IND vs NZ 2023: Rohit Sharma will continue to lead the side

It has been rumoured that Hardik Pandya has taken over the captaincy in the shortest format of the game after India’s semi final exit in the T20 world cup. Rohit Sharma hasn’t played a T20I game since that defeat whereas Hardik Pandya has captained all the T20Is that India played since then.

Rohit Sharma led the side in Bangladesh in ODIs before ruling out due to injury. He is back as the skipper for the ODI series against Sri Lanka and is likely to lead the side against New Zealand as well. He may well skip the T20I series against New Zealand which is set to happen after the 3 match ODI series.

As far as squad is concerned, India are expected to name the same squad that will play against Sri Lanka. If Ravindra Jadeja is fit, he will slot back right into the squad.

Will KL Rahul be available?

The only thing uncertain about the squad is the availability of KL Rahul who is rumoured to get married in the later half of January which clashes with the ODI series against NZ. Although the exact date of KL Rahul’s marriage is unknown, he might miss the series if it clashes, India could bring in Sanju Samson In place of KL Rahul in the squad.
