India have comfortably sealed the series with one game to go. This is India’s 7th consecutive series victory against New Zealand in India. New Zealand would be embarrassed with the way they played in the 2nd match. Their top order batting was in shambles in both the games. They came close to India’s target in the first match only because of Michael Bracewell’s blinder.
They have a lot to play for in the 3rd match and they can make some changes to their playing 11 which will make their team a more competitive one than the one with which they played the 2nd match.
IND vs NZ: Mark Chapman to take up Henry Nicholls’s spot
Henry Nicholls’s game has gone down in all the formats of the game. He was given the first preference ahead of Mark Chapman for the #3 spot in the absence of Kane Williamson but the southpaw has failed to make an impact big time in both the games. The Kiwis could look to bring in Mark Chapman who can also contribute with the ball if needed with his left arm orthodox.
Doug Bracewell ahead of Henry Shipley
Dough Bracewell is one of the experienced campaigners in the current New Zealand squad that is in India. Henry Shipley was given the nod ahead of Dough Bracewell but Henry Shipley has been extremely innocuous to say the least. Dough Bracewell can also strengthen the batting line-up lower down the order for New Zealand, considering the struggles of the Kiwi top order batsmen, there is every chance that New Zealand could bring in Dough Bracewell for the 3rd match.
Jacob Duffy to replace Blair Tickner
Blair Tickner is another fast bowler who has endured a terrible series so far. New Zealand might want to give a chance to Jacob Duffy who has been warming the bench so far in this series. There is also a possibility of them bringing in Ish Sodhi but Indore is a small ground and spinners have usually found very little success in there.
