However, the visitors dominated the proceedings on Day 2 and but Mayank Agarwal and Axar Patel made sure that no more Indian wickets fell to end session on high.

Continuing with the overnight score of 221/4, the duo of Mayank Agarwal and Wriddhiman Saha looked very watchful and were circumspect. But the inception of Ajaz Patel in the second over twisted the tales as left-arm spinner first trapped Saha in LBW for 27 and then removed R Ashwin for a golden duck with the croker.

The duo together stitched 50-plus run partnership and turned the momentum towards their team after early blows on the day.
At Lunch on Day 2 Team India is 285/6 with Agarwal and Patel unbeaten on 146 and 33 respectively. It remains to be seen if the duo can take past 350-run mark or not.

IND vs NZ, 2nd Test: Ajaz Patel shines for New Zealand in the second Test
After failing to make an impact in the first Test against India in Kanpur, Ajaz Patel’s turnaround was the biggest positive for the visitors. The left-arm spinner jolted India and took 6 wickets of the hosts. He first gave the Virat Kohli-led side setback by removing well-set Shubman Gill for 44 runs and then left them tumbling as he removed Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli for ducks.
If this was not enough, Ajaz Patel then dismissed Shreyas Iyer to end with four wickets on Day 1. He continued where he left on the first day as in his very first over on the second day he sent Wriddhiman Saha and R Ashwin packing in the two consecutive deliveries.
