Team India wrapped up the pink ball day-night Test match inside just two days handing the visiting England team a crushing 10-wicket loss to take a 2-1 lead in the four-match Test series. The pitch at the world’s largest cricket stadium, Narendra Modi Stadium, surely had a lot of assistance for the spinners from Day 1 itself and for the same reason, the surface is now being critically questioned by majority of the cricket experts and former cricketers. Many of the former cricketers including the likes of David Lloyd, Michael Vaughan and Robert Key have brought the Ahmedabad pitch under immense scrutiny for way it played during one of the shortest Test matches of the 21st century. In the recent development, former India’s swashbuckling batsman Yuvraj Singh has voiced his opinion in front of the world regarding the pitch.

Yuvraj Singh faces the wrath for his controversial tweet
In his recent Twitter post, Yuvraj Singh mentioned that if India’s legendary spin bowling duo of Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh had got the chance to bowl on this type of pitch, they would have ended their careers with 1000 and 800 wickets respectively. The former Indian cricketer also stated that in his tweet that such a kind of track in Ahmedabad did nothing for the betterment of Test match cricket. Yuvraj ended his post by congratulating Indian spinners Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin for their brilliant performance in the game, however, the two-time World Cup champion faced a lot of bashing from the fans on Twitter.
finished in 2 days Not sure if that’s good for test cricket !If @anilkumble1074 and @harbhajan_singh bowled on these kind of wickets they would be sitting on a thousand and 800 ??However congratulations to ?? @akshar2026 what a spell! congratulations @ashwinravi99 @ImIshant ?

IND vs ENG: Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli brings the below-par batting into notice
The India vs England pink ball Test match witnessed a total of 28 wickets taken by the spinner inside 2 days, however, it is also a fact that that 21 of the 30 dismissals were against the straighter deliveries instead of the turning ball. It was a wicket where a part-time off-spinner in England captain Joe Root ended up picking his maiden Test five-wicket haul but it also shows the lack of application and grit shown by the Indian and English batters. Both the India’s batting stalwarts, captain Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma came in the defence of the Ahmedabad pitch by stating that the batting from both the teams was below-par throughout the Test match.
It was a Test match that was purely dominated by the Indian spinners which eventually turned out to be a one-sided affair. Axar Patel was awarded the Man of the Match for his sensational performance where he took 11 wickets in the Test match while Ashwin finished with 7 wickets.
Here are the reactions by the fans to Yuvraj Singh’s tweet:
You scored 36 in an over once but same English cricket team dint complain about the pitch ??♂️

After getting retired, didn't expect such ridiculous tweet / comments from Yuvraj ji. India performed outstandingly in 2nd test & 3rd test. Ashwin is an outstanding bowler who is far much better than Bhajji Paaji & Kumble Sir because of his batting ability. @sachin_rt @imVkohli

Paaji, We don’t have the same opinion when games end shorter in overseas conditions and we are left searching for the ball due to swing. It’s TEST cricket for a reason. Why not encourage batsman to improve their skills as already shorter formats are nightmare for bowlers.

According to your logic, if Kohli and Smith batted on the pitches where Bhajji and Kumble bowled, he would have had more test hundreds than Sachin?

The problem is that India over a period got adjusted themselves to overseas pitches/conditions, but other teams still put blame on pitches in India. Check out the dismissals dude, they were straight balls. #DemonsInMindNotPitch #INDvsENG
