Dawid Malan IND vs ENG: In an important news update, England’s premier T20I batsman Dawid Malan unfortunately misses out for today’s crucial India vs England semi-final match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 scheduled to be hosted at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. Barring the disappointing defeat against Ireland, the Jos Buttler-led England team have played some really good cricket recently in this tournament with back-to-back wins over New Zealand and Sri Lanka.
IND vs ENG: Why is Dawid Malan Not Playing Today’s India vs England T20 World Cup 2022 Match?
During the toss, England skipper Jos Buttler mentioned that Dawid Malan is not part of the side for this crucial encounter against India. In the last league match against Sri Lanka, Malan sustained a groin injury and did not came out to bat during the chase in the second innings. He was certainly not feeling comfortable during the practice sessions before the semi-final. England have instead included explosive batsman Philip Salt in the playing 11 and he will bat in the middle-order. In 12 T20I matches, Salt has smashed 235 runs at a phenomenal strike-rate of over 160 that includes as many as two fifties.
“We’re gonna bowl first. There is going to be a great atmosphere here. Dimensions are different, we will have to adapt. We have two changes – Malan and Wood are out with injuries – Salt and Jordan come in. Looks a good wicket. Hope it stays well the whole game,” said England captain Jos Buttler during the toss.
