IND vs ENG 1st Test: Rishabh Pant’s non-stop chirping behind the wickets was the only sunshine for the Indian fans on an otherwise dull opening-day of the first test in Chennai against England. After winning the toss, England skipper Joe Root opted to bat first on a good flat wicket, without any hesitation. His decision looks perfectly right as the visitors are in a commanding position with a score of 263 at the loss of just 3 wickets at the end of day 1.
Although the day belonged to England and their skipper Joe Root as he gets a hundred in his 100th Test, wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant made sure to lift up bowlers’ and the team’s spirit with his continuous chirping behind the wickets.

Joe Root’s hundred puts England in the driving seat
England skipper Joe Root continued his fine form and slammed his third consecutive hundred in the longest format of the game. Carrying on from where he left in Sri Lanka, Root looked extremely comfortable playing sweep, reverse-sweep, and drives in his 128*. Dom Sibley (87) also batted brilliantly before getting out in the last over of the day. Both Root and Sibley made India toil throughout the last two sessions.
