Who was Vasudev Paranjpe?
Vasudev Paranjpe was a former first-class cricketer who played for Mumbai and Baroda. He featured in a total of 29 matches from 1956 to 1970. But his ability to mentor cricketers and motivate young and old players propelled him to the status as one of Indian cricket’s greatest coaches. He is known for mentoring legendary players like Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar. The master blaster said that Vasu sir has been an integral part of his cricketing journey since childhood. On Twitter, he also shared a small incident during his U-15 days, where Vasudev Paranjpe allowed them to play night cricket.
