IND vs ENG Live: Team India have made a phenomenal comeback in this ongoing Oval Test match against England. After getting bowled out for 191 runs and conceding a heavy lead of 99 runs in the first innings, the Indian batters have come up with their best effort with the bat in this series so far posting a monumental score of 466 runs in the second innings.
Why Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara are not on the field?
In a recent update, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the duo of Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara have not taken the field on Day 4 in the final session due to their respective injury issues. Incidentally, Pujara twisted his ankle while batting during the second innings on Day 3 but he continued to bat and even scored a crucial knock of 61 runs. On the other hand, Rohit who composed a wonderful innings of 127 runs scoring his first ever overseas Test hundred, has felt some discomfort in his left knee.
“Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara will not take the field. Rohit has discomfort in his left knee while Pujara has pain in his left ankle. The BCCI Medical Team is assessing them,” stated BCCI on the injury update.

Mayank Agarwal and Suryakumar Yadav are currently on the field in the final session. It is still uncertain whether Rohit and Pujara will be back on the field on Day 5 of the Test match or not.

India did lose the key wickets of Ravindra Jadeja, Ajinkya Rahane and captain Virat Kohli in the opening session on Day 4, but the duo of Rishabh Pant and Shardul Thakur stitched a brilliant century partnership to put the pressure back on England. Shardul smashed 60 runs off 72 balls while Pant scored a vital innings of 50 runs. Towards the end, Umesh Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah also added some crucial runs to help India set a monumental fourth-innings target of 367 runs for England.
