The toiling continues as India ended another session without picking up even a single wicket. This is the 2nd one in 4 sessions where India failed to pick a wicket in this test. England captain and vice-captain have ensured that their team is in commanding position to score runs at a faster rate in the upcoming sessions to force for a declaration.

IND vs ENG: Joe Root grinds it hard
India had only one positive coming into the 2nd day as they were about to bowl at a new batsman in Ben Stokes but Ben Stokes looked like he was playing his cricket at India from his childhood as he looked comfortable to the core. Indian bowlers were bowling their heart out to knock out either of the batsmen but Joe Root and Ben Stokes were hardly troubled
There is no denying the fact that the wicket has nothing in it and even the turn which Ravichandran Ashwin could extract was harmless as batsmen had all the time in the world to adjust to it because of the pace of the pitch. Ben Stokes reached his 50 within the first 80 balls he faced which shows the intention of the England.
There were signs of pitch behaving when one ball took off from short of good length off the bowling of Washington Sundar and that is when Indians would have started worrying about the number of runs that England have scored already.

England to bat India out of the game
All England need now is either of Ben Stokes or Jos Buttler to get a big score and play around their captain to bat the host nation out of this game which is very much possible at this point in time.
Ben Stokes is in ominous form and he is showing no mercy to India’s 4th and 5th bowling options in Shahbaz Nadeem and Washington Sundar. All in all, another grueling session is on cards for the Indian bowlers. Joe Root and Ben Stokes remain unbeaten on 156 and 63 respectively.
