India Playing 11: Team India and England will battle it out for the Paytm Trophy in the fifth and final T20I as the series hangs in the balance by 2-2. The Men in Blue displayed great character in the 4th T20I to secure a win by eight runs, which keeps them alive in the ongoing campaign.
Batting first, the hosts scored a par total of 185 for the fall of eight wickets from the 20 overs. Newcomer Suryakumar Yadav impressed with his wide range of shots and struck a quickfire 57 from 31 deliveries. The Mumbai Indians batsman was adjourned the player of the match, and he is highly likely of retaining his spot in the eleven.
Shardul Thakur led the pack with the ball in hand and picked up three wickets for 42 runs. Whereas, Rahul Chahar and Hardik Pandya also chipped in at crucial intervals by scalping two wickets apiece.
Talking about England’s key contributors, Jofra Archer stood out with four wickets for 33 runs from four overs. Ben Stokes and Jason Roy did put caution to the win with a score of 46 and 40 respectively in the run chase.
From India’s perspective, it will be interesting to see if Virat Kohli persists with a similar eleven, or if he goes with further changes as he has in the previous four games.
