IND vs ENG: England opener ruled out of first two Tests

Visitors England have received a massive setback ahead of first India vs England Test as opening batsman Zak Crawley has been ruled out of the first two Tests. The opener is having a wrist injury and thus will be out of action for a couple of weeks.
Wrist injury rules out Crawley from the first two Tests
According to the reports, Zak Crawley slipped out of the dressing room on Tuesday and fell on his right wrist. The England team management was waiting for the scan reports to take a call on Crawley’s situation.

The ECB released a statement that noted that scan results have confirmed that Crawley has jarred his right wrist, which has strained the joint and led to local inflammation.
ECB has explained that the England medical team will continue to assess his progress over the next few weeks.
Crawley’s injury frustrating: Root
England skipper Joe Root said that Crawley’s injury is a real freak incident. He noted that steps had been taken to prevent further such accidents in the course of England’s stay.

Root agreed that it’s really frustrating, for Zak in particular. He feels it is a real freak incident, and hard for him to take, especially off the back of trying to get as best prepared as possible for the series. He mentioned that now they have to look at things from a selection point of view.
The England captain knows that they have got to be careful, but he feels it’s not something you first think about when you turn up to the ground, trying not to slip over. He feels it’s a real freak accident and believes hopefully that’ll be the last of it, and no one else can do the same thing.
With Crawley not available, England has to find another player to bat at number 3. Dan Lawerence is one option while Moeen Ali could be the other choice.
