Team India will continue their preparations for this year’s all-important 50-overs World Cup scheduled to be played at home. IND vs AUS: Why is Shreyas Iyer Not Playing Today’s India vs Australia 1st ODI?
India’s Shreyas Iyer will miss the entire three-match ODI series against Australia at home because of his lower back injury. Due to the same issue, the right-hander did not came out to bat in the final Test match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 in Ahmedabad. Earlier this year, Iyer also missed the three-match ODI series against New Zealand and the opening Test match against Australia due to the same back injury. However, it is still unclear as to when will the 28-year-old be able to recover completely from the injury. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to name a replacement in the India ODI squad for the Australia ODI series.
