In a massive breaking news development, Australia are not playing their premier all-rounder Cameron Green in the series deciding IND vs AUS 2023 third ODI at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Australia made a phenomenal comeback in the second ODI encounter as they registered a convincing 10-wicket victory against India. The three-match ODI series is now levelled with a 1-1 scoreline and all eyes will be on the decider.
IND vs AUS: Why is Cameron Green Not Playing Today’s India vs Australia 3rd ODI match?
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Australia captain Steve Smith revealed that their all-rounder Cameron Green was not available for selection in this final ODI game against India. Smith further mentioned that Green was feeling unwell ahead of this game and thus, he makes way for the experienced David Warner for the crucial series decider. After having scored a memorable century in the last Test match against India, Green has not been at his best neither with the bat or ball so far in the opening two ODI games. He scored 12 runs in the opening match and also remained wicketless during the series so far. On the other hand, Warner brings a lot of experience having notched up more than 6000 runs from 141 ODIs at an average of over 44 that includes 27 half-centuries and 19 hundreds.
“We are gonna have a bat. Looks like quite a dry surface, it is pretty hot out here. Will look to put a good total on this surface. We have had good fun and it will be exciting in the decider. We love playing in the crunch games and it’s exciting. It’s dry, so Ashton Agar is back. David Warner comes in for Cameron Green who is feeling a bit unwell, so there are changes,” said Australia captain Steve Smith during the toss.
