The countdown for the much anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy has begun. The two cricketing heavyweights will clash each other in the four-match Test series and at the conclusion of the series we will get the No.1 ranked Test side and most likely the finalists of the World Test Championship.

The Test series between India and Australia will kick start with the Nagpur Test on February 9th. The focus will then shift to the second Test that will be played on 17th February in Delhi. The third game between the teams is slated to take place on 1st March in Dharamshala whereas the last game will be played on 9th March in Ahmedabad.

With series just a few days away from now, many fans and pundits have started making the predictions and also have named their XI’s for the teams as well.

Ranji Trophi Legend Wasim Jaffer too has joined the bandwagon and has named his Indian XI ahead of first Test in Nagpur. The former Indian cricketer has named the duo of skipper Rohit Sharma and his deputy KL Rahul as the two openers.

He then picked Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli in the middle order. What was surprising that he picked Shubman Gill ahead of Suryakumar Yadav to bat at No.5 in the absence Shreyas Iyer in the first game.

As per Jaffer, KS Bharat will make his debut as the keeper batter whereas Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin are the two all-rounders in his team. He picked Kuldeep Yadav ahead of Axar Patel, stating that the former brings variety as a wrist spinner. The two pacer in his side are Mohammad Shami and Mohammed Siraj.
