IND vs AUS: Former Indian cricketer, Sanjay Manjrekar, has expressed his doubts about Kuldeep Yadav being included in the playing XI for the first Test against Australia, even if the Indian cricket team decides to play three spinners. The left-arm wrist spinner has been in top form in white-ball cricket, where he has established himself as a valuable player and a worthy competitor to Yuzvendra Chahal.
IND vs AUS: Who will be India’s third spinner in the Playing XI?
Despite his recent success, Manjrekar feels that Kuldeep might not be a guaranteed starter in the playing XI for the Test series against Australia. Kuldeep’s last Test appearance was against Bangladesh in December 2022, where he put in a match-winning performance, earning the player-of-the-match award. However, despite this impressive showing, Manjrekar believes that Kuldeep’s place in the team is far from secured.
The Test series against Australia promises to be a closely contested affair, with both teams having their strengths and weaknesses. The Indian cricket team will have to make some tough decisions regarding their playing XI, taking into consideration the conditions in India, the form of the players, and the opposition. The outcome of the series will be determined by the performances of the players and how they adapt to the conditions in India. While Kuldeep Yadav has been in excellent form, Manjrekar thinks that it remains to be seen whether he will feature in the playing XI for the first Test against Australia.
Kuldeep Yadav had a stellar performance in the first Test, taking eight wickets and scoring important runs lower down the batting order. Despite his strong showing, he was not selected for the second Test, being replaced by Jaydev Unadkat, who made his return to the national team after a decade.
Sanjay Manjrekar believes that if the Indian cricket team decides to play three spinners, Axar Patel should be the third option. Axar has been in good form in recent times, and his ability to bowl tight spells and pick up wickets makes him a valuable asset to the team. Additionally, his ability to contribute with the bat lower down the order makes him a well-rounded player.
The Indian cricket team has several options when it comes to its playing XI for the Test series against Australia. The team will have to weigh the strengths and weaknesses of each player, taking into consideration the conditions in India, the form of the players, and the opposition. The outcome of the series will be determined by the performances of the players and how they adapt to the conditions in India.
Kuldeep Yadav’s performance in the first Test was impressive, but it was not enough to secure him a place in the second Test. Sanjay Manjrekar believes that if the Indian cricket team decides to play three spinners, Axar Patel should be the third option. The upcoming Test series against Australia promises to be a closely contested affair, and the Indian cricket team will have to make some tough decisions regarding its playing XI.
“Kuldeep Yadav might not be the third spinner if the team are looking to play three spinners. Axar Patel will be the third spinner,” said Sanjay Manjrekar in a recent interview with Espn Cricinfo.
“Jadeja and Ashwin will come at No.7 and No.8, so there will be enough depth in the batting. As far as the bowling combination goes, either they will play two spinners and three seamers or three spinners or two seamers,” he added.
