Rishabh Pant IND vs AUS: The cricketing focus now shifts to India’s home season where the Men in Blue are all set to host Australia for a three-match T20I series and the opening game is scheduled to begin on 20 September, 2022 at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. The Indian side will definitely be looking forward to come up with an improved performance after their disappointing show in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022. Both India and Australia will have their eyes set to prepare well for the all-important ICC T20 World Cup 2022.

The Indian team management surprised everyone when they decided to bench Rishabh Pant and played Dinesh Karthik as the wicket-keeper batsman in the first game against Pakistan during Asia Cup 2022. However, with premier all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja not available for the T20 World Cup due to injury, there is still a big mystery between Pant and Karthik as to who will get a spot in the playing XI for the first T20I encounter against Australia on Tuesday. By looking at Rishabh’s recent failures, Karthik is very much likely to be the frontrunner for the wicket-keeper batsman’s role against the Aussies at the start of the three-match series.

With dew expected to play a significant role especially during the second innings, India might not want to go ahead with the five bowlers combination and thus, both Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant cannot be part of the playing 11.
