January 11, 2021 is the day when the ethos of India inculcated as a test captain by Virat Kohli came to a complete circle. The resilience and grit showed by the Indian team will make each and every cricket fan proud, let alone Indian fans. It was the test cricket of highest quality. India crawled to a draw from a hapless situation on the 5th day of the 3rd test here in Sydney.
IND vs AUS- A rivalry for ages
Australia’s dominance in their home in the longest format of the game goes without saying. They have one of the best bowling attacks that Australia have ever played as a unit. It is no joke to survive 97 overs on a day 5 pitch on what was a tricky batting surface for any full force team in the world let alone India who in Virat Kohli are without their best batsman and as many as 3 half fit batters in their top 8.
That was the state of the Indian team coming into the 5th day of the test match with Ravindra Jadeja nursing his fractured thumb, Rishabh Pant having an injured left arm and Ravinchandran Ashwin who was going through a terrible back who even couldn’t tie his own shoe laces in the morning of the match according to his wife Preethi.
Amidst all these hurdles, India managed to hold their nerves and ensure India can still win the series, thanks to a complete and an inspirational batting effort by the Indian batters. This day will be etched forever in the memory of each and every Indian fan around the world.

Who would have thought that an Indian C team which is without their 3 first choice players in their XI would stretch the series alive till the last match of the series?. Surely, not many. This series is nothing but a moral victory for India and its fans and they can be proud of their effort so far in this series irrespective of what happens in The GABBA.
