Australia will be pumped to play in their fortress in The GABBA where they haven’t lost a test match for more than 30 years now. They are utterly dominant in there and opposition teams struggle to match the standard of cricket that Australians play in that particular ground.
Will Pucovski ruled out of The GABBA test
Australia played with their full strength team in the Sydney test where all their first choice players took the field including the debutant in Will Pucovski. The talented right hand opening batsman was in line to make his debut in the first test but was ruled out of the first 2 tests because he was hit on his head in the first warm-up game prior to the first test in Adelaide.
He came back in the 3rd test and made an exciting debut with a 50 in his very first innings in the international arena. He looked at ease and played at a brisk pace as well. Now, the latest development is that, he has been ruled out of the 4th test as he sustained an injury on the last day of 3rd test while fielding. Australia have included Marcus Harris in the playing 11 in place of Will Pucovski who will partner the veteran David Warner at the top of the order.
Australia will be looking to finish the game inside 3 days as India’s situation in this series has gone from bad to worse in terms of injury list. India might hand over a debut to Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur who will be replacing Ravichandran Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah respectively for the 4th test.
India are already without 4 of their first choice seamers in Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Shami, Umesh Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah and it really should be a cakewalk for the Australians.
Australia playing 11
Marcus Harris, David Warner, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Matthew Wade, Cameron Green, Tim Paine, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon.
