The Indian men’s cricket team is set to face Australia in the third T20 International of the series in Hyderabad. The three-match series will be concluded tomorrow (Sunday, September 25) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal. For now, the bilateral series stands as 1-1.
The series’ first game was scheduled in Mohali on Tuesday (September 20), where India endured an unexpected defeat by four wickets. Hardik Pandya’s 30-ball-71-runs knock was overshadowed by Cameron Green’s quick half-century and Matthew Wade’s unbeaten match-winning cameo in the end.
Furthermore, yesterday (September 23), in Nagpur, skipper Rohit Sharma’s unbeaten knock of 46 runs in 20 deliveries guided India to level the series. The game, as predicted before, was invaded by the rain and was reduced to eight overs each. Aussies managed 90 runs in those 48 deliveries; Wade, again, remained unbeaten and scored 43 runs in 20 deliveries with four boundaries and three sixes. India’s Axar Patel picked two wickets during his reasonable spell with the ball.
In reply, Sharma smashed four boundaries and four sixes during his time on the crease. However, the other Indian batters were unable to follow on. Dinesh Karthik, finally, smashed a four and a six in his two-ball innings and handed a victory to his side with being not out in the end, alongside Sharma. India won the game by six wickets; Australia’s Adam Zampa captured three wickets.
