Things are going well for Indian batsman Rohit Sharma. The right-hand batsman scored a composed half-century in the Melbourne Test to cement his place in the Test team and now he has been blessed with a baby girl. Due to this happy news, Rohit will miss the Sydney Test.
Rohit returns to India
The news of Rohit becoming a father was announced by an English newspaper. According to the report, the Indian batsman boarded a flight to India soon after India completed a historic win at Melbourne.
The report also mentions that the team management allowed Rohit some days off as they feel the Indian cricketer should be with his family as this is ‘far bigger and more important’.

Teammates laughed at Rohit when he shared this news
In the previous week, Rohit broke the news that he is soon going to be a father during a conversation with former Aussie cricketer Michael Clarke.
The right-hand batsman mentioned that he cannot wait to be a father and felt that it is going to be a game-changing moment in their lives. He stated that he is eagerly awaiting the moment of becoming a father. It will be a moment to change their life.
He also revealed how his teammates reacted to this news. He said that when his teammates got to know that he is going to become a father, they were laughing at him. They were like you are going to be a father?

He explained that their reaction came in because of the mannerism and the things he has done in his previous years. They think that he is irresponsible, obviously in a funny way. But he stated that he is going to make sure that everything changes.

Who will replace Rohit?
With Rohit missing out for the Sydney Test, India have the option of playing an opener and slotting back Hanuma Vihari in the middle order. The other option is to bring Hardik Pandya in the playing XI. Pandya’s presence will give Kohli and Co. the cushion of a pace-bowling option which can come in handy if India play two spinners and two pacers at Sydney.
