ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is all set to return with its 8th season. The tournament will commence on 15th October 2022 in Australia. The inaugural season of the T20 World Cup was held in the year 2007. The tournament was new and teams were adapting to this format. Fans were thrilled to see a change in the international scene. The first edition of the tournament had it all, from one-side games to last ball enthralling encounters. The 2007 World Cup was a hit, and India won the first edition. Hence, ICC decided to hold the tournament every two years. Up until the year 2022, 7 editions of the T20 World Cup took place. Every time, a new hero emerged either with the bat or with the ball.

In the 5th edition of the tournament, Kohli scored a total of 319 runs with 4 crucial half-centuries. He anchored the team to the finals, but India eventually lost to Sri Lanka.
