One of the favourites for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, Team India, began their tourney with a spectacular win against South Africa at Southampton on Wednesday.
“The wait was very long and then you get a game like this where it was challenging throughout. From our point of view, it was important to start on the right note. We might not have had the run rate, but if you look at how the game went and how the pitch behaved, it was challenging,” said Kohli at the post-match display.

Kohli describes Bumrah’s fiery spell
Kohli took an acute catch on the bowling of Bumrah to chuck de Kock.“There’s one thing to see a bowler bowl, but to catch that ball, to feel the weight of it. When I captured it, for 15 minutes my hands were buzzing. He’s not giving any free passes.
“With the new ball he was absolutely outstanding. Haven’t seen Amla get out like that in one-day cricket. Even Quinny, he rushed him for pace,” he said referring to de Kock’s dismissal, He added further.
It’s Kohli’s third World Cup. He has already been a part of on top sides in a World Cup and Champions Trophy. He has even managed his sideward to an Under-19 World Cup win. But none of those, not even the 2011 World Cup win, is likely to be as exceptional and memorable as this one is for Kohli.
