Virat Kohli-led Team India received a positive sign ahead of their opening tie against South Africa on June 5 in Southampton. There was a doubt about having Jadhav on board for ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 campaign after his shoulder injury at the IPL while fielding for Chennai Super Kings against Kings XI Punjab in their last league game.

Rested for precautionary measures
Due to precautionary measures, Jadhav did not play the first two warm-up games against New Zealand and Bangladesh. It was not just Jadhav even Vijay Shankar joined the bandwagon of injured players. Vijay did not play the match against New Zealand but played against Bangladesh.
