PANT HITS A MASSIVE SIX
Debutant Rishabh Pant struck a massive six off the second-ball in his debut Test match. This left the entire crowd speechless and his mother felt both nervous and surprised. This 20-year-old cricketer became the first Indian to do this in the debut match. This speaks highly of his faith and form.
I WAS VERY NERVOUS: PANT’S MOTHER
“I was very nervous when I heard that he would be making his Test debut. I was very much surprised. Before going into play the Test, he telephoned me and asked me to watch him play on TV. I generally don’t watch matches on TV when he is playing. However, after his father’s recent death, he has been requesting me to watch him play,” said his mother.
But, Pant’s coach Tarak Sinha was not astonished at all.
RISHABH IS A VERY STRONG MAN: TARAK SINHA
Sinha, who has guided and trained many former Indian cricketers, said, “Rishabh is a steel man and among all my other promising pupils, his ability to hit hard. He is very strong in all aspects. He has proved that he can play the red cherry with confidence and against all odds”.
Earlier on Day 2, Pant made another record as well. He became the only Indian wicketkeeper to take five catches in his debut Test. Pant was picked up as a replacement to Dinesh Karthik who was injured.
CRICKET LEGENDS’ TWEET
What I liked in this innings was the intent shown by our batsmen and the front foot defense against the English pacers was solid. Wonderful partnership by @imVkohli and @ajinkyarahane88. @RishabPant777 should continue being positive and set the platform. #ENGvIND pic.twitter.com/HCsfZJgSwS

Incredible! Rishab Pant's first scoring shot in Test cricket was a six, off the second ball that he faced. The youngster looked very good. I wish him the best for a big innings. India did well on the first day. They should push hard and win the Trent Bridge Test.
