Shikhar Dhawan Covid Donation: India’s challenging battle against the second wave of Covid-19 is still on with the country recording close to 3 lakh cases on each day. India and Delhi Capitals senior opener Shikhar Dhawan on Friday donated oxygen concentrators to Gurugram Police in order to support them in this fight against coronavirus pandemic. The Gurugram police also took to Twitter to thank the Indian cricketer for his wonderful support in these tough times.

“Taking forward our committed efforts. Grateful to @SDhawan25 for providing Oxygen Concentrators,” Gurugram Police tweeted.

Earlier during the IPL which has now been postponed indefinitely due to multiple covid cases reported within the team bio-bubbles, Shikhar Dhawan had announced INR 20 lakhs plus a donation in the form of his entire post-match awards money during the IPL 2021 season towards supporting the country in these tough times.

Recently, Shikhar Dhawan got himself injected with the first dose of covid vaccine and also thanked all the frontline warriors for their sacrifices and dedication to support the country in this battle against coronavirus.

For the Delhi Capitals, Shikhar Dhawan has delivered stellar performances in back-to-back IPL seasons. After scoring more than 600 runs in IPL 2020, Dhawan was the leading run-getter in the recent edition with a total of 380 runs in 8 matches at an average of 54.29. If sources are to be believed, the 35-year-old left-hander is currently the front-runner to be appointed as the Team India captain for the upcoming white-ball series against Sri Lanka scheduled in July. With Virat Kohli and Rohit busy with the Test team in England, Dhawan is likely to captain India in the 3 ODIs and as many T20Is against Sri Lanka.
