Sachin Tendulkar Covid Donation: In order to support the people of India fighting against the second wave of coronavirus which is growing with every passing day, many cricketers have stepped ahead with massive contributions. Due to major lack of oxygen supplies and other medical facilities, it has become really difficult for the state governments to control this panic situation across the country. Former India’s batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar has also come forward and announced a massive donation for India’s battle against Covid-19.

Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar who himself contracted coronavirus a few months back, announced a donation worth INR 1 crore towards ‘Mission Oxygen’ in order to procure oxygen concentrators for COVID-19 patients in the country. ‘Mission Oxygen’ is a fund-raising initiative set up by Delhi-NCR-based entrepreneurs which aims to help COVID-19 patients with oxygen concentrators. The God of Cricket also donated INR 25 lakh each to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund and the Chief Minister of Maharashtra’s Relief Fund in March 2020.

“His donation of ₹1 crore to ‘Mission Oxygen’ in its endeavor to procure and provide life-saving oxygen concentrators to hospitals across the nation in this time of need is incredibly heart-warming,” read a statement from Mission Oxygen.

Cricketers Covid-19 Donations
Apart from Sachin, there are several names from the cricket fraternity who have supported India in this tough battle against covid-19. Indian captain Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have donated an amount worth INR 2 crore towards a fund-raising project called Ketto. Kohli’s proceeds will move to “ACT Grants”, that is a movement working to arrange funds for oxygen concentrators and medical solutions for COVID-19. Even India’s leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has donated INR 95,000 towards this initiative set up by Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. IPL franchises like Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals have also contributed with noticeable donations for the covid battle.
