When will Dhoni be back on the field
Dhoni recently caught in the limelight when the BCCI rued him out from the annual contract list of the cricketers. He was last seen playing in the semi-final match which India lost to New Zealand and ended its World Cup 2019 journey to the cup.
Since then, Mahendra has not played a single international match and people are eagerly waiting for him to come back. But with BCCI’s decision, the speculations to whether he will make a comeback or retire from all formats of games have become intense.
In regard to the speculations of Dhoni’s retirement, the former skipper Kapil Dev said that Dhoni’s looks difficult as he has not played for a long time.
Kapil in a show was quoted saying, “If you haven’t played cricket for so long then I don’t you can come back from anywhere. But he still has IPL, his form there will be important and selectors should see what is best for the country. Shoni has done a lot for the country but when you don’t play for 6-7 months, you leave a doubt in everyone’s mind. And then that creates a lot of discussions which shouldn’t happen.”
However, speaking on the issue, the Indian in-form opener Rohit Sharma recently said that Dhoni is the best skipper the country has had.
“MS Dhoni is the one who has been like that. It’s in-born. It has helped him to make such good decisions on the field and now you see he is the most successful Indian captain with all three ICC trophies with him and many IPLtitles as well. He is the best captain India has seen and there’s a reason behind it-which is being calm and composed under a situation.”
