India has announced the squad for West Indies Test series which starts from October 4. In the squad, the team management has picked Hanuma Vihari as the sixth batsman and have dropped Karun Nair.
Hanuma Vihari made his debut in the fifth Test against England where he scored a half-century. This has enabled him to retain his place in the team. However, some fans questioned the omission of Nair. Meanwhile, Harbhajan Singh wants Rohit Sharma to be in the team.

Rohit’s erratic form in red-ball cricket
After having a lukewarm start to hisĀ international career, Rohit Sharma upped the ante in 2013 and since then has become one of the most prolific batsmen across the globe. And now he is ranked number two in ICC’s ODI batting rankings. Recently India won the Asia Cup under his captaincy as well.
However, the right-hand batsman has failed to replicate the magic in Tests. After scoring two centuries in first two Test innings his runs dried up. He has especially struggled in overseas conditions and averages a mere 25.35 in 29 away Test innings.
This lack of consistency has cost Rohit his place in red ball cricket. However, Harbhajan feels that Rohit deserves a chance in the team courtesy of his splendid ODI form.
