One of India’s greatest ever finger spinners to have played the game in Harbhajan Singh has said that the legendary leg spinner Anil Kumble was the greatest ever match winner to have played for India.
The leg spinner who has 619 wickets in his test career with an average of 29 is the 3rd leading wicket taker in the history of test cricket and is the leading wicket taker for India by some margin
Anil bhai was the greatest ever- Harbhajan Singh
Over the years, India have produced some astonishing match winners. The fact that cricket is a team game gets overshadowed by an individual brilliance is something that makes fans to go in awe of that player. The likes of Kapil Dev, Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar who all can change the game on their head with terrific skills are match winners. But the bowlers are made as scapegoats when this topic is discussed about.
The Punjab spinner who has over 400 wickets in test match cricket said that Anil Kumble was the greatest match winner to have played for India. For the brilliant bowler that Kumble is, he richly deserves the credit for all that he has done to India during his playing days.
In my view, Anil bhai was the greatest ever who played for India. He’s probably the greatest match-winner India has ever produced. People used to say he didn’t spin the ball, but he showed that if you had the heart, you could get batsmen out regardless of whether the ball spun or not

“If anyone has half the competitiveness Anil bhai had, he would become a champion. I’m lucky to have played with him for so many years. He was an unbelievably committed player,” Harbjahan Singh concluded
