The Mumbai Indians have unfortunately left out off-spinner Hrithik Shokeen from their playing XI for today’s GT vs MI match. This seems to be a tactical decision as MI have brought in left-arm leg-spinner Kumar Kartikeya in the team for this game and the off-spinner is not even part of the five substitute members out of which one can come in as the Impact Player at any moment in the match. After having played as many as 6 matches for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2023, Shokeen has taken only 3 wickets at an expensive economy rate of close to 10. Thus, the MI team management has decided to bring some variety in their bowling attack with the inclusion of left-armer Kartikeya in this match.
