In a massive breaking news development, Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Hardik Pandya is not playing their third encounter of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) season against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) being played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. GT vs KKR: Why is Hardik Pandya Not Playing Today’s IPL 2023 Match? Who is GT Captain?
After having won the toss and opting to bat first, the Gujarat Titans stand-in captain Rashid Khan revealed the big news that regular captain Hardik Pandya is not part of the GT Playing 11 for this GT vs KKR IPL 2023 match. Rashid further mentioned that Pandya is just unwell and thus, he was not available for selection. Incidentally, Hardik has gone wicketless in both the matches so far and has not contributed well with the bat either. In his absence, leg-spinner Rashid Khan will be leading the side while the Gujarat Titans have also included the duo of Vijay Shankar and Abhinav Manohar in the GT Playing XI.
“We would like to bat first, looks like a fresh wicket. Just unwell slightly, don’t want to take risks with him. As a team we will try to play good cricket. Just one change, Vijay Shankar is in for Hardik,” said Gujarat Titans stand-in captain Rashid Khan during the toss.
