Hardik Pandya IPL 2022: In a big breaking news development, Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Hardik Pandya is not playing the today Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. While returning to complete fitness in the ongoing edition of the T20 tournament, Hardik had been contributing amazingly well so far both in the batting as well as bowling departments. After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Gujarat Titans stand-in captain Rashid Khan revealed the massive news that the regular skipper Hardik Pandya is not playing today because of a bit of stiffness in the groin area. In the last match against Rajasthan Royals, Hardik delivered a sensational performance especially with the bat while playing an outstanding unbeaten innings of 87 runs off just 52 balls that included 8 fours and 4 sixes. He also took a wicket with the ball but then looked in a bit of pain and eventually left the field. The Gujarat Titans captain failed to complete his full quota of overs in that match, however, Rashid gave a good news that Pandya is likely to return for the next game.

“We would like to bowl first. Bit of stiffness in the groin area for Hardik, so as a team we didn’t want to take a chance. He will rest and hopefully be back for the next game. Super excited, it’s kind of a dream. So I just want to learn as much as I can and give 100 percent. Matthew Wade is out and Saha is in. It’s just to balance it out as Hardik is absent,” said Gujarat Titans stand-in captain Rashid Khan at the toss.
