GT Playing 11: Tata IPL 2022 has reached its business end. We are into the playoffs now and the four teams who have made their way to the playoffs are Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants, and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The first qualifier of Tata IPL 2022 will be played between Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. After 70 league games, all played in Maharashtra, this is the first match of this years’ IPL that will be played outside Maharashtra. Gujarat finished the league stage at the pole position on the points table with 10 wins and 4 losses, on the other hand, Rajasthan Royals finished second with 9 wins and 5 losses.

Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals have faced each other only once in IPL and Titans came up strong with a 37 runs win.

Gujarat Titans need to regroup after a demeaning loss to RCB. Gujarat Titans lost their final league game against Royal Challengers Bangalore by 7 wickets. The loss derailed their momentum for sure and they would want to regroup and come strong in this all-important clash.

Is Wriddhiman Saha available? One of the biggest questions ahead of the perennial Qualifier 1 is the availability of keeper batter Wriddhiman Saha. Saha got a hamstring in the last game and wasn’t able to keep wickets. The keeping gloves were donned by Matthew Wade and Saha rested in the second innings of the last game. He is probably fit for this clash, however, the final call will be made on the match day.

If Wriddhiman Saha plays, there is no need for the Titans to tinker with their top order. As far as the bowling unit is concerned, the management might think bringing in Alzarri Joseph for Lockie Ferguson and Yash Dayal might make way for a batter like Abhinav Manohar or Sai Sudharshan.
