GT Playing 11: Gujarat Titans succumbed to their second defeat of the season in their last game against Punjab Kings the other night. They will next face the five-time champions Mumbai Indians at the Brabourne Stadium in a quest to get back on winning ways.

Gujarat Titans will have a giant task ahead of them in the form of Mumbai Indians who just registered their first win of the competition in their last game against Rajasthan Royals. With Gujarat Titans still leading the points table, they can afford a loss or two, however losing before the playoffs stage won’t do any good for a team that has dominated the tournament so far.

Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians haven’t squared off against each other in the IPL. This would be their first meeting.

GT is missing Hardik Pandya the bowler. Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya hasn’t bowled in the last 3-4 games. He has been feeling some issues in his lower back which means he might not bowl ahead in the tournament until necessary. GT is missing their prolific skipper’s bowling but they will have to contain this fact.

Shubman Gill and his out-of-form theory This edition of IPL is no different for young opener Shubman Gill. Just like early years, the elegant right-hander from Punjab displays his class in one or two games and then the rest of the tournament his bat is silent. This year too he scored two back-to-back fifties in his second and third game and since then the scores associated with him are not worth mentioning. Titans need Gill to fire before they enter the knockout stages of the Tata IPL 2022.

GT Playing 11

After a fighting fifty in the last game, Sai Sudharshan will be keeping his place in the eleven until there is any injury scare. Sai got injured during fielding in the last game and if he isn’t fit Abhinav Manohar or Gurkeerat Mann could replace him in the eleven. Shubman Gill’s form is a huge concern, but the Titans don’t have an able replacement for him. Also, we might see Yash Dayal back in the eleven for Pradeep Sangwan.
