Australian great Adam Gilchrist has some advice for the Indian batsmen and bowlers and that advice is for them to be mentally strong if they want to win series abroad. Currently, India is trying their very best to win the fifth and final match in the five-match series. The hosts, England have already won the series as the score is 3-1 in their favor.
In an interview, Gilchrist said that India had a very strong bowling unit and quite a few quality batsmen but in order to win they need to be more mind than body. The players need to be mentally strong to tackle any problem and to adapt according to the conditions. He also included captain Virat’s name calling him the best batsmen in the world.
Virat Kohli in ODI,

Fastest Indian to reach 5000 (3rd Overall)
Fastest Indian to reach 6000 (2nd Overall)
Fastest Indian to reach 7000 (2nd Overall)
Fastest Ever to reach 8000

He was also asked to comment on the current captain, Virat’s captaincy skills to which he said he admired Virat’s positivity. Gilchrist said that the one thing he loved about Virat was his tenacity and his power of staying positive and keeping his team positive. He also added that he didn’t want to comment more as he hasn’t seen much of the playing.
After Virat’s captaincy skills came his attitude. Gilchrist said that he did admire Virat’s aggression even though many people think he goes overboard a few times. Gilchrist added that Virat was the kind of player who is passionate about leading his team and nation to victory and that’s what we see.
Each and every game it is @imVKohli who stands up and delivers. But just one person being consistent doesn’t win you test matches abroad. Others also need to step and deliver. But what a batsman you are turning out to be #ViratKohli?? pic.twitter.com/208hhycGUK

Gilchrist was also asked about captain Virat’s sour relationship with the Australian spectators. Gilchrist responded by saying that the Aussie crowd would get under any opposing team’s skin. Virat has matured since the last tour he added.
Gilchrist also said that India will be touring Australia between November and January next year and the fans should try to not upset Virat. As Virat is the best batsmen in the world and upsetting him can backfire on the Australian crowd.
When asked about the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in England, Gilchrist said that the hosts, Australia, Pakistan, and India are the teams with the potential to reach the semifinals. Continuing on the topic Gilchrist shed some light that England has one of the strongest white ball teams. Add that to the fact they will be playing in their home conditions and they become quite unstoppable. Australia has a great chance too and India has won the tournament before and Pakistan is the dark horse. There could be some surprises waiting.
