Though the nation is in lockdown due to the pandemic, plenty of cricketers are as active as ever on social media wile being in conversation with one another as well as their fans. Quite recently, it was former Indian opening batsman turned politician Gautam Gambhir who wished Rohit Sharma on his birthday in unique manner.
Gambhir took to twitter to wish the ‘Hit-Man’ and didn’t shy away from labeling him as ‘the best white ball cricketer in the world.’

Rohit Sharma who now turns 33 has been one of the central figures for Team India over the course of time. The Mumbai Indians skipper made his debut for the Men in Blue in ICC World T20 of 2007. The specialist batsman did have more downs than ups in the initial stage of his international career but has now established himself as one of the most dominating batsman in world cricket.
From 224 ODIs Rohit Sharma has scored 9115 runs at an average of 49.3 which also includes a staggering record of three double hundreds under his belt. He has seen off 108 T20Is, while scoring 2773 runs at a strike rate of 138 that also includes 21 fifties and four-hundreds.
Rohit Sharma has also had quite a bit of success in the star-studded Indian Premier League (IPL). Sharma has secured four IPL titles as the captain of the Mumbai Indians and has scored 4898 runs from 188 games in the league with a strike rate of 130.8
In the 2019 World Cup, Rohit Sharma scored five centuries and 648 runs which was the most by any batsman in the mega event. With all that being said and done, a significant margin of people could agree to Gautam Gambhir‘s claim.
As of now, Rohit Sharma and the rest of the international cricketers are practicing self isolation. Had it not been for the pandemic, most if not all of the cricketers would have been active members in the 13th edition of the IPL. It is being said that the BCCI is conducting meetings for an alternative once things get back to normal.
