Ever since India’s disappointing ouster from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, speculations on the retirement of former Indian skipper MS Dhoni are making rounds. One of the biggest reasons for these speculations is the absence of MS Dhoni from the game since the World Cup 2019 semi-final.
A few days back there were reports that the 38-year old will feature in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2020 for Jharkhand, however, there is no conclusive evidence regarding this news.
According to a new report given by a former cricketer, MS Dhoni will take a call on his future after the IPL 2020 only.
This is what a former cricketer had to say on MS Dhoni’s future
Talking to Sportskeeda, the former cricketer said;
“He will take a call probably after the next year IPL on how to go about things in the T20 league,”
“Now there is no motivation to play anymore. When there are people he feels who can replace him, he doesn’t want to block their chances, Dhoni can still demand a farewell game, but he isn’t ready to disturb the combination of the Indian cricket team. He believes that Rishabh Pant can do a very good job both behind the stumps and with the bat.”
These words from the former Indian cricketer are evident of MS Dhoni’s great achievements which he had been glorified with throughout his playing career.
IPL, as of now, the only thing on MS Dhoni’s radar
With the deteriorating conditions caused due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the wait for the 13th edition of IPL is escalating. There are no signs of the tournament to get underway until things don’t get better.
However, MS Dhoni is in all plans to lead the Chennai Super Kings once again in the IPL and is looking forward to yet another great IPL ahead.
