Tom Banton: The 21-year-old is being seen as the next big thing in English Cricket, at least in the limited-overs game for now. He may be relatively inexperienced at the top level and will have the likes of Jos Butler and Ben Stokes alongside him who will have more pressure to deliver, but Banton is someone who can light up the tournament. His brief spell in the Big Bash League (BBL) Brisbane Heat, where he led the scoring at a phenomenal strike rate, is a proof of what he can do.
Marnus Labuschagne: No other player in international cricket in the last year or so has had more impact than Labuschagne. He is the darling of Australian cricket and is hailed as a future captain of the national team. How good he has been, is clear from the fact that in January this year, the ICC named Labuschagne as the Emerging Cricketer of the Year, and he was Australia’s Test player of the year as well.
Babar Azam: Pakistan’s best batsman at the moment. In fact, he is drawing the comparison with none other than our won superstar Virat Kohli. This seems a bit exaggerated to some extent, for Kohli is on another level, and Azam needs to show more consistency to make those comparisons more applicable. And T20 is the stage where he can emerge as one of the best in the world at the moment.
