Azhar Ali’s absent-minded runout
Former Pakistan captain Azhar Ali has been involved in one of the most comical dismissals in cricketing history. During the second Test match between Pakistan and Australia in 2018 at Abu Dhabi, former Pakistan skipper edged delivery off seamer Peter Siddle that went past the gully fielder towards the third man boundary and stopped just before the ropes.

As the ball went near the boundary rope, the right-handed batsman thought that ball has gone past the boundary line and he went in the middle of the pitch to discuss the match scenario with his partner Asad Shafiq. Mitchell Starc, who was fielding, then threw the ball to the keeper Tim Paine and he dislodged the bails to ran Azhar Ali out. When the former Pakistani skipper was asked about the incident he said that his son is going to speak about it for a long time and in a funny way.
