Who has not heard the name of Kevin Pietersen? The right-handed batsman from England carried the national team on his shoulders for over a decade. During his illustrious career, he broke numerous records but one list, he would not have wanted his name to be is in the ‘controversies’ section. The former English skipper always made the headlines for his on and off-field antics. However if not every time, he once landed in trouble due to social media and had to apologise for his actions. In 2010, when England selectors named the squad for the home series against Pakistan, Kevin Pietersen’s name was missing from the white-ball squad.

The frustration got better of him he tweeted, “Done for rest of summer!! Man of the World Cup T20 and dropped from the T20 side too.. It’s [sic] a f*** up!!.” Even though he deleted the tweet later but he had to apologise for his action. Geoff Miller, who was national selector that time then had something to say and stated “Whether there is an apology or not, I’m sure [England coach] Andy Flower will have a word with him. I don’t like that kind of language – and I don’t use that language at all. I don’t follow Twitter and I’m not a great believer in that kind of thing. I don’t think it is necessary.”
