Ollie Robinson
England’s pacer bowler Ollie Robinson’s name has been hogging over headlines over the past couple of months. Ever since he made his debut for ‘Three Lions’ he has been one of the top performers for the Joe Root-led side. The right-arm pacer made his debut against New Zealand in the two-Test series that took place in June this year. The lanky pacer had a great start to his career for England in whites as he took 7 wickets and scored 42 runs with the bat as well.
However, his memorable debut turned into a disappointment as he was removed from the squad ahead of the second Test after his ‘racist’ and ‘sexist’ tweets which he posted in 2012 and 2013 went viral during his debut Test match. Robinson then was fined USD 4,400 and was handed an 8-game ban and found himself in trouble due to social media. The pacer then made a great comeback and is currently playing the five-Test series against India, and is troubling the Indian batsmen with his fantastic bowling.
