First double century in ODI – Until the last decade, scoring a double hundred in the 50-over format was almost unheard of. In the last 12 years, 8 double hundreds have been scored in One Day Internationals. Out of the eight double hundreds scored, five of them have been scored by Indian batters. Rohit Sharma has scored three double hundreds, which is the most by many batter.
First double century in ODI
Sachin Tendulkar scored the first double hundred in ODI history against South Africa in Gwalior on February 24, 2010. Batting first, India scored 401 runs which includes an unbeaten knock of 200 runs from Sachin Tendulkar.
The knock included 25 boundaries and 3 sixes, and the milestone was achieved in just 147 balls. Sachin had a strike rate of 136.05, and played the entirety of 50 overs. India won the match by 153 runs, and the Master Blaster was awarded the player of the match award.

Rohit Sharma Double Centuries
Rohit Sharma, who has been one of the best white ball players since the past decade is the only player with three ODI double hundred to his name. His unbeaten knock of 263 runs against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens in 2014, still remains the highest score in ODI Cricket.
Rohit Sharma scored his first ever double hundred against Australia in 2013 at Bengaluru. Rohit smashed 209 runs off just 158 balls, which includes 12 fours and 16 sixes. Meanwhile, his last ODI double hundred came against Sri Lanka again in 2017. He scored an unbeaten knock of 208 runs against the Lankan lions, which included 13 fours and 12 sixes.
