The explosive right-handed batsman smashed a remarkable maiden century off just 49 balls which is also the fastest hundred in the history of the Indian Premier League playoffs. Patidar contributed with a staggering unbeaten innings of 112 runs off only 54 balls that consisted of 12 fours and 7 sixes. The 28-year-old RCB replacement player smashed the Lucknow Super Giants bowlers all over the park and also registered the fastest hundred of IPL 2022 season.

After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, the Royal Challengers Bangalore did not had the best of starts as they lost the crucial wicket of their captain Faf du Plessis in the first over of the match. However, the pair of Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar then batted really well to add a crucial partnership of 66 runs. Patidar looked in a fabulous touch from the start and went on to notch up his maiden IPL hundred.
