The fastest 50 in a T20 International was scored by Yuvraj Singh against England at 2007 ICC World T20. Even after almost 14 years, Yuvraj Singh’s record of fastest 50 is intact. The main reason was the quality of that innings that makes it a memorable one. The match was a do-or-die for India, and Yuvi, like he had done all throughout his career, performed when the team needed him the most. He came in to bat with just 20 balls remaining in India’s innings and skipper Dhoni was at the other end.
In the penultimate over of the first innings, Yuvraj smashed Stuart Broad for a record six sixes in an over and brought up his 50 in just 12 balls. Yuvraj went on to score 58 runs off 16 balls which included 3 fours and 7 huge sixes.
He propelled India to a total of 218/4 which later on helped the team to win the game by 18 runs. Yuvraj Singh’s blistering innings won him the Man of the Match award. This is also the fastest 50 in overall T20 cricket (international or domestic).
