“If someone had told me 15 years ago, that I would play 69 Test matches for South Africa and captained the side, I wouldn’t have believed them. I stand in a place of utmost gratitude for a Test career full of blessings bestowed on me.
The next two years are ICC T20 World Cup years. Because of this, my focus is shifting to this format and I want to play as much of it as possible around the world so that I can be the best player I can possibly be,” Faf Du Plessis wrote.
Wishes pour in from all over the world
Faf du Plessis had a dream start to his test career back in 2012 in Adelaide where scored 78 in the first innings and then made a remarkable fighting century in the second innings for his maiden test ton. Since then he has amassed 4163 runs and has also been the captain of the side for some time. He had 18 wins and 15 losses as a captain.
Wishes came in from all over the world for a fantastic career and even his fellow CSK buddies Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh have commented on the post. Many Protea counterparts and English cricketers also gave their messages for the retired player.
