England Women captain Heather Knight will not be playing the third Vitality IT20 against the West Indies Team at Derby on Tuesday but her health for the Ashes is not viewed to be in doubt.
Knight felt some bruises in her hamstring in last week’s 42-run win at Northampton and will skip the final match of the series as a safeguard.
After Knight’s injury Vice-captain Anya Shrubsole took the charge of the final match of the series, with England looking forward to complete their win.
Heather Knight ruled out of the 3rd T20I owing to the hamstring injury she suffered in the last game.

Shrubsole speaks on Heather Knight’s injury
“We’ll miss Heather on the field,” said Anya Shrubsole, “but it’s another good challenge for us to overcome without her and it gives another member of the squad the chance to impress.”
“We’ve got a lot of players knocking on the door – Bryony Smith got 80 in county cricket this weekend, and so did Georgia Elwiss – so if you get an opportunity in the first XI it’s a chance to make that place your own.” She added further.
Fran Wilson and Lauren Winfield are both possible challengers who can replace the injured Knight for Tuesday’s match.
Mark Robinson to announce England’s Ashes squad
later this week Before he does name his final squad there will be two further chances to impress, with England A taking on Australia at Loughborough in two fixtures (June 26 and June 28), and a further warm-up for the full side against Australia A on Saturday June 29.
