England vs Sri Lanka: The England team has included Somerset star man Tom Banton for the third and final ODI against Sri Lanka that is to be played in Bristol on Sunday.

Tom Banton is recently scored a scintillating 47-ball century in the English T20 Blast, and will look to make a mark in the final ODI versus Sri Lanka if given the opportunity. With the absence of Dawid Malan due to personal reasons, the selectors have looked at Banton as the ideal replacement.

The 22-year-old has featured in six ODIs and nine T20Is for England so far. Talking about his performance in the ODIs, Tom Banton has scored 134 runs, with an average of 27, and a fifty to his name. In the shortest format of the game, the specialist batsman has scored 205 runs from nine games, while, having a strike rate of 143.3, and a high score of 71.

England kicked off the ODI series with a comfortable win by five wickets over the Lankans. The visitors were restricted for a meager score of 185, with āPlayer of the Matchā Chris Woakes being at the helm of things as he bagged four wickets for 18 runs in 10 overs. A quick fire knock of 43 from 21 deliveries from Jonny Bairstow, and a valuable 79 from Joe Root got England over the line with 15 overs to spare.

For Sri Lanka, it was Kusal Perera and Wanindu Hasaranga who stood tall with knocks of 73 and 54 respectively. Dhusmantha Chammera did impress with the ball as he picked up three wickets for 50 runs. However, Sri Lanka will have to be more of a cohesive unit, rather than relying on individual brilliance in order to stay alive in the series.
The second ODI between England and Sri Lanka will be contested at the Oval, at 5:30 PM (IST). The match will be broadcasted live on the Sony Sports Network.
