India started their tour of England on a resounding note.
Kuldeep Yadav starred with his maiden five-wicket haul while KL Rahul slammed his second ton in T20Is as India started the series on a winning note.
Batting first, England at first seemed formidable with the style of cricket that they exhibited. And, with their current form, it looked as if England would draw the first blood against the Indian team in this 3 matches T20I series.
However, in the 11th over, Buttler accomplished his fifty in 29 balls courtesy of a major blow over square leg off Hardik Pandya, who went for 18 runs in his third over. Hales’ 18-ball eight runs misery ended when Kuldeep castled him when the right-hander went for a sweep. Eoin Morgan attempted an ambitious stroke and gave Kuldeep his second wicket. Kuldeep didn’t stop there.

He perplexed Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root on consecutive balls to set the cat among the pigeons in the opposition camp. Eventually, it was David Willey’s cameo of 29 runs that lifted the Poms to 159.
As a result, Kuldeep (5/24) became the first chinaman bowler to take a five-for in the shortest format
England lacked homework while facing Kuldeep was evident with the likes of Bairstow and Root being left in a complete tangle.
“Looking at how convincing we were in all three skill-sets gives me great pleasure as captain, especially some of the younger guys stepping up and doing the job”, Kohli said.
When asked to Kuldeep about his comfortability, he said,”It felt like home conditions,” he explained. “The wicket was very dry but when I bowled my first over I felt like there was going to be a bit of turn so I stuck to one line and length.
It’s my first tour and things are going quite well.”
“Kuldeep is a very good bowler,” Morgan said. “And he will continue to be a threat. Maybe we can be a bit better. It’s something we’ll assess.”
Spin Wizard Kuldeep Yadav and the young Karnataka lad, KL Rahul emerged as a major entertainer for the Indian audience.
India would be aiming for a whitewash over the hosts England before the much-awaited longer format of the game.
We weren’t good enough in Bengaluru last year. But it was an entirely different game today. Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets in four balls and deceived us. He totally deceived us and he bowled really well,” said Morgan.
