This will be a chance where they will look to test their white-ball depth with big players like Archer and Stokes not available. England leads the overall head-to-head record over Sri Lanka 5-4 and will be looking to start the series on a high.

Despite Stokes and Archer unavailable, England’s depth in the squad makes them favorites. Woakes will be looking to cement his place in the side after being benched for a long time. Bairstow’s ankle scans have come out clear but he is still doubtful for this match.
