PAK Playing 11: Pakistan will kick off their tour of England with the first ODI due to be played here in Cardiff. With several England players isolated due to positive Covid-19 cases, they have a depleted squad. Pakistan, meanwhile, have arrived with an experienced squad led by the talented Babar Azam. With a relatively inexperienced side to play against, Pakistan will fancy their chances to win. England leads the overall head-to-head record against Pakistan 53-32. In the ICC ODI Rankings, England are 3rd while Pakistan are at 6th position.
Team News
- Babar Azam will lead the side while Mohammad Rizwan will don the wicketkeeping gloves and will play in the middle order.
- Haris Sohail has complained about an injury in the right leg and didn’t take part in the intra-squad matches as well. He is unlikely to play.

Pakistan have a established top three who have done well for them in the last few years. Babar Azam will once again be the key at No. 3 as he is the rock of this batting line-up and loves playing this format. The middle order seems inexperienced which puts responsibility on keeper Rizwan to prevent a collapse. Shaheen and Hasan Ali have been in good form recently but legspinner Shadab Khan’s form will be a concern.
